A beautiful and accurate summary of the evening. Your description of the Wild Things ("explosions of flavor that both intrigued and beguiled") summarized how I felt about each and every dish and the entire evening. It was a spectacular dinner and collaborative event by Skenes and Fox. I wrote a quick post on the evening last night as well. For my brief rundown and photos, click here: http://tinyurl.com/2b98323.

I got to experience benu's tasting menu on it's third opening night last night (sans alchohol) and just read your review. I am in complete agreement with your takings...the lemon in the porridge...brioche being too much for the torchon (didn't care for the sesame lavash, so, still had them on the table...worked nicely with the monkfish liver :)...and, yes, the 'faux' shark-fin soup was amazing!

It was a thoughtful/mindful dinner...am wanting to return to try their a la carte menu.
